Webinar: Empowering Citizen Participation for Building Caring and Inclusive Cities

In a world where cities face growing challenges such as climate change, social inequality, an ageing population and migration management, the notion of caring cities has gained momentum. Going beyond traditional governance structures, these cities place people's well-being at the center of their policies, guaranteeing their dignity, autonomy and access to rights.

To achieve this, citizen participation becomes an essential tool for recognizing and supporting care initiatives that arise in the community and addressing the barriers faced by caregivers in their daily lives. Co-governance and participatory democracy can be key to articulating more humane, responsible and accessible cities.

Held as part of the process of creating the 7th GOLD Report on the Economies of Equality and Care, this webinar will explore how the care perspective can strengthen public policy design and the provision of local services, with inspiring experiences from local governments and territories that have implemented innovative approaches in this area.
