Registrations are opened for the III World Forum of Peripheral Local Authorities, which will happen on June 11th, 12th and 13th at Unilasalle University, located next to the Canoas La Salle Station, in Canoas, metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, Brazil.

The III FALP aims to bring together representatives of local governments and civil society worldwide. The theme is "Rights and Democracy to Solidarity and Sustainable Metropolises". The meeting will have the debates structured around six main topics:
- Identities and Multipolarity
- Governance and Participation
- Globalization and Metropolization
- Water and Sustainability
- Common good and living well
- Equality and Gender Policy
The preparatory process for the Forum began in January 2012, when Canoas and São Leopoldo, both metropolitan cities of Porto Alegre, held the International Seminar of Peripheral Cities, within the framework of the Thematic Social Forum 2012.
The event is organized by the city of Canoas, in partnership with the City of Nanterre (France), and FALP Network. The summit claims to gather more than 1100 participants coming from 200 cities, 50 different countries from Africa, America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
