The Africities Political Committee met last December in Brazzaville (Republic of the Congo) to choose the host city for the next Africities Summit, to be held in December 2015.
After the corresponding deliberation process, the Committee, made up of the UCLG Africa (UCLG-A) President, currently President of the West Africa sub-region, the four Vice-presidents, one from each of the other African sub-regions, and the UCLG-A Secretary-General, chose the city of Johannesburg (South Africa) as the host for the 7th Africities Summit in 2015.
In this context, it was also decided to establish the future of Africa and the role of its local communities as a central topic, all of which will be contained in the title ´2063 Vision for Africa: Which contributions from the African Local Governments?
