The guide « Ensemble pour l’égalité des droits » (All together in favour of rights equality) is aimed at all inhabitants, associations, business and other relevant stakeholders working on non-discrimination at the level of this French urban territory.
The Department of Seine-Saint-Denis has been committed for many years to the fight against discrimination. Strong commitments have been made and implemented with regards to internal operations and managerial practices, but also concerning institutional relations with partners and public service users. Since 2016, Seine-Saint-Denis has been the first department to be awarded the Diversity Label: A recognition of the Department's commitment to promoting diversity and fighting against all forms of discrimination.
In 2019, the Department conducted a survey on discrimination events as experienced and felt by the Seine-Saint-Denis inhabitants. The results of the survey objectively showed that discrimination is a cause for concern for more than 7 out of 10 inhabitants and that 6 out of 10 inhabitants have already been victims of discrimination in Seine-Saint-Denis.
In order to address this phenomenon, the Department decided to create the guide « Ensemble pour l’égalité des droits » (All together in favour of rights equality), aimed at all inhabitants, associations, business and other relevant stakeholders working on non-discrimination at the level of this French urban territory. This guide is an information and awareness-raising tool focused on supporting those actors ready to take action.
In this guide, you will find a definition of the phenomenon of discrimination, a presentation of the barometer on discrimination in Seine-Saint-Denis, a practical toolkit to combat discrimination and a directory where all key stakeholders in the area are well-compiled.
