Both local and regional governments undertake responsibilities by promoting, carrying out and paying homage to Human Rights.
Effective governance in society requires a holistic and inclusive approach, one that prioritizes close engagement with citizens and implements policies directly responsive to their needs. The delivery of essential services plays a key role in enhancing the quality of life, addressing local challenges, and fostering widespread participation. By integrating human rights as core principles, local governments can uphold universal values of equality and non-discrimination, ensuring that systems remain accountable and responsive to the diverse needs of the population. This approach not only facilitates sustainable development but also guides policymaking by embedding human rights within the governance framework. Through these efforts, local governments can cultivate fair, inclusive societies that promote long-term well-being for all citizens.
As effective governance requires policies that prioritize citizens' needs and encourage their active participation, local governments have a crucial role to play in the provision of basic services that improve the quality of life of local people and address local challenges. Important strides are also being made in enacting and implementing local policies that ensure equality, accountability and responsiveness for all by mainstreaming human rights into governance. These local governments in turn play an important role in promoting not only sustainable development, but also a just and inclusive society in which every citizen can thrive. At its core, governance based on human rights aims to create a just society, ensuring long-term prosperity and well-being for all, and within this framework, local governments continue to contribute to development at the local level through a system that adopts feasible policies and constantly updates and improves itself.
The campaign aims for local governments to develop rights-based services and ensure social cohesion. Karatay Municipality's participation in this campaign can strengthen social cohesion by contributing to the development of human rights-based public policies.
The Campaign can also create opportunities to share good practices and develop more inclusive projects. Furthermore, participating in this campaign can provide an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and build solidarity with others who share similar passions and concerns. Thus, the municipality's participation in this campaign offers benefits such as strengthening equal access to services, combating poverty, and achieving sustainable development goals.
