El Masnou

A municipal government, a town hall, is the level of public administration closest to the citizens. I myself, as mayor of El Masnou, live with and speak daily with neighbors. Of course, institutional campaigns or large awareness campaigns are always welcome and helpful. But it is on the ground, through practice, that small results can be achieved—results that, when combined, can become enormous. 

All local action is based on basic and fundamental principles. From building social housing to ensuring street accessibility, guaranteeing access to education, or promoting equal and non-discriminatory action. Promoting, fulfilling, and respecting human rights—through public policies and through small daily neighborhood actions—is key. That is why, from El Masnou, we want to be a Human Rights Territory by 2030.
