Our Committee brings together local governments from across the world committed to the advance human rights and the right to the city. In the framework of UCLG, the Committee aims at articulating the common voice of the world organization of local governments on social inclusion, participatory democracy and human rights.

Throughout the last years, the course of action of our Committee has diversified, from its initial focus on local practices of social inclusion and participatory democracy to a cross-cutting approach based on human rights and the right to the city. On the basis of these approaches, those interested local governments are able to deepen the global local government conversation on issues such as the right to housing, spatial justice, migrations and non-discrimination or peace culture.
